Sweetness {Guest at After 5 Designs!}

>> Wednesday, September 5, 2012

Happy Wednesday everyone! I'm excited to share some fun news for September: I'm a guest at After 5 Designs! I'm super excited to play there this month and I've got two sweet mini kits in my shop right now. It's been a while since I've done a baby-themed kit, so I decided to revisit a favorite old palette for these two. The Sweetness kits are almost identical-- one in blue and one in pink-- with just a couple of variations here and there. Inside, you'll get eight papers and a lovely collection of elements in sweet, cuddly pastels.

Here is some loveliness from my team...
While you're at After 5, be sure to check out September's amazing 5-5-5 collab! It's just beautiful!

September!

>> Monday, September 3, 2012

Hello scrapping friends! Oh my, it's been a while, hasn't it? It's been a CRAZY summer, but things are winding down and we're all ready to get back into a school year routine.

I'm especially excited about some happenings with Elise's Pieces Designs this month. First off, today I'm being featured at The Daily Digi! I love TDD-- I subscribe to The Digi Game myself and I absolutely love getting all of the goodies every month. I've been introduced to some amazing designers through TDD, and I love getting new kits from my favorites as well. So fun.

I'm really excited about the kit I made for my TDD feature-- it's called Learn & Grow and it's kind of school/learning themed, but mostly just bright and fun. I wanted to do something to match the back-to-school season, but wanted to keep it pretty versatile as well. Hopefully I succeeded-- I was pleased with how this one turned out!

Here are some of the gorgeous layouts my own team created with this kit:

Aren't they fabulous?!! I have more exciting news for you this month, including a guest spot, new products at TDC, and of course, freebie goodness for you! For now, though, be sure to subscribe to my newsletter, like me on FaceBook, and follow this blog to stay up-to-date! For those of you in the US, Happy Labor Day-- we're off to a family BBQ that promises a good time and lots of calories! :)

How about a free alpha?

>> Tuesday, July 10, 2012

Making an alphabet can be one of the most tedious tasks, especially when it means clipping out 26+ letters and numbers and saving them individually.  I've done a few different things to help streamline my personal process over the years, and I think I've finally come up with a Photoshop action that will work for me.  You can buy these types of actions in the digi world, but I decided that I'd rather make the action myself so that I know exactly what it does and so that it works with my workflow.  I'm pretty excited about it and thought I'd put it to the test just for you.  I made you a fun and, if I may say so myself, really versatile Shabby Graph Paper Alpha-- and it's yours free just for stopping by.  The pack includes capitol letters A-Z and numbers 0-9 in individual PNG files and a full sheet.

Download automatically by clicking here or on the image above.

And hey, while you're here, why not Like me on Facebook (freebie!) or subscribe to my newsletter (freebie!)?  Have a great day!

Oh my heavens, I haven't blogged in too long!  And I have so much to share!  BUT!  It's rapidly approaching midnight and I am one tired chick, so I'm just popping in for a quick second.

I've mentioned my love of The Digi Dares before-- it's a fantastic challenge/inspiration site where you are given a weekly scrapping dare and a chance to win some awesome prizes.  I've actually won myself a few times and I always love the layouts.  It's a great chance to improve your scrapping and really think outside the box.

Well, for this week's dare, I'm the sponsor!  I'm so excited about Britt's dare, too-- it's all about Dads.  The deadline for your page is Thursday night, so head on over to The Digi Dares and play along!

Savannah! Brand new at The Digichick!

I feel like I have been working on this kit forever!  It started as a rainy-day kit, but the colors were just too... happy.  I already had the papers finished and a few flowers, but I felt like I couldn't keep going until I had a good name.  Nothing seemed quite right, until I ran into an old friend with an adorable brown-eyed daughter named Savannah.  The name Savannah makes me think of bright fields of flowers, a little bit of tomboy, and plenty of girlish charm, which was exactly where this kit was headed.  Once I had a name, everything else seemed to fall into place, and I'm excited about how this kit turned out.

Here's Savannah...

You can grab this huge kit at The Digichick now for 20% off!  Hooray!

My CT did some incredible and versatile things with this kit-- take a look...

Beautiful, aren't they?

I know we also have a drawing for a free kit, but since Kelleigh's drawing doesn't happen until this evening, I'll wait for mine as well.  You still have time to comment!  :D  Once again, please be sure to leave a way to get in touch with you.

Have a wonderful day!

Little Paper Boxes {with Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs}

>> Tuesday, April 3, 2012

A text is nice, a phone call is better, but nothing says "I love you" better than a little paper box filled with something sweet!  This is why I love making hybrid crafts-- the perfect marriage of digi and paper-- and why I love giving them away.

Of course, my favorite templates are those by my dear friend, Kelleigh Ratzlaff.  Her templates are available in a bunch of different formats and I like to use the PSD files so that I can use my own papers and elements.  Just last week, I made this great little Gable Box using my Well Read kit for a friend.  So cute!  And filled with my favorite filler, Hershey's Hugs, it was the perfect little way to say, "I'm thinking about you!"

As mentioned, my husband was out of town for a few weeks last month, so the boys and I decided to put a care package together for him.  I decided to use Kelleigh's Milk Carton templates-- they're simple enough that my two older boys could fold and paste them together without too much extra help from me.  First, I had the boys pick out their favorite papers and elements from my Dad's Day kit to put on their boxes.  I left a big space for message-writing.

Then we cut, folded, glued, and filled our boxes with little treats for Dad.  And I took a fancy picture.

 Even though I talked to my husband every day while he was gone, I think getting this fun little package in the mail really made his day.  :)
