It's been so long since I've done a CT Spotlight, but it's time to bring it back! This is a special one because today we're spotlighting Debbie, one of the leaders on my Creative Team. Debbie has been working with my designs since the very beginning-- she was actually on the site Creative Team at my very first digi shop. Now, she's on my personal team and she does an awesome job! Let's get to know Debbie!
1. Tell us a little bit about you!
I've been married to my high school sweetheart for over 10 years, and we have two kids who keep me moving. I teach full-time as a high school English and reading teacher, so there are both frustrations and celebrations every day on the job. I like to volunteer, so I'm adviser to my school's Key Club and assistant leader in my daughter's Girl Scout troop. When I'm not doing all of that, I like to scrapbook, read, sing songs in Rock Band, play board and card games, and cook.
2. How long have you been digital scrapping?
I've been scrapbooking since 1998, but I made the switch to full-on digital in 2007 when my son was born. I was able to get more scrapbooking done if all I had to do was turn on my computer.
3. What are your favorite types of products to work with?
Since I created scrapbooks with paper and such before, I generally like traditional products, but I don't mind pushing myself to do collage/art-journal pages or more 3-D compositions every so often. My major project right now is scrapbooking all my 2009 Project 365 photos, so I use a lot of kits that have bright, versatile colors and items.
4. How would you describe your scrapping style?
Left without a template, I'm mostly a geometric scrapbooker, making everything very squared off. I like a clean page, with not a lot of clutter, but I also try to fill up at least half the page with photos, journaling, and embellishments. Since I'm a writer by habit and English teacher by trade, the majority of my pages have at least some journaling.
5. Random Question: What is your favorite animal?
For years, my favorite animals were turtles; I even adopted it as my camp name when I was a day camp counselor. Lately, I've been more aware of monkeys, though, because one of my pet names for my son is "Little Monkey."
