Little Paper Boxes {with Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs}

>> Tuesday, April 3, 2012

A text is nice, a phone call is better, but nothing says "I love you" better than a little paper box filled with something sweet!  This is why I love making hybrid crafts-- the perfect marriage of digi and paper-- and why I love giving them away.

Of course, my favorite templates are those by my dear friend, Kelleigh Ratzlaff.  Her templates are available in a bunch of different formats and I like to use the PSD files so that I can use my own papers and elements.  Just last week, I made this great little Gable Box using my Well Read kit for a friend.  So cute!  And filled with my favorite filler, Hershey's Hugs, it was the perfect little way to say, "I'm thinking about you!"

As mentioned, my husband was out of town for a few weeks last month, so the boys and I decided to put a care package together for him.  I decided to use Kelleigh's Milk Carton templates-- they're simple enough that my two older boys could fold and paste them together without too much extra help from me.  First, I had the boys pick out their favorite papers and elements from my Dad's Day kit to put on their boxes.  I left a big space for message-writing.

Then we cut, folded, glued, and filled our boxes with little treats for Dad.  And I took a fancy picture.

 Even though I talked to my husband every day while he was gone, I think getting this fun little package in the mail really made his day.  :)
